Welcome to Grand Elysium: a 3-day LARP game of Vampire the Masquerade hosted by OWBN chapters Columbus in Darkness (CiD), Never Ending Nights (NEN), Ohio Knights Sabbat (OKS), and Mountain’s Dark Heart (MDH). This is a free event for all Origins badge-holders. Participants MUST have an Origins Game Fair badge to play.EXISTING CHARACTERS:

Speed Networking Event Thursday 8:00P - 9:00P Hosted by Clan Ventrue

Come meet and network with fellow Kindred at this speed networking event. In rapid-fire sessions, participants will rotate between meeting other attendees. Quickly open doors to new connections, potential allies, or new friends. Spaces limited. Sign-up begins at 8:15P.

FRIDAY:

"A Tournament of Games" Preliminaries Friday 8:30P-9:30P Hosted by Clan Malkavian

Clan Malkavian loves our games. Our games however, often have great flexibility in design or rules. The first round of the tournament will happen over the course of Friday night. Teams will be paired with two local Malkavians who will decide on the nature and the “winner” of the game.
Saturday the Clan will host a Final Table. This game should not take longer than an hour.
Exhibition games may be held throughout the weekend for enjoyment at the discretion of the clan, purely for fun. There may or may not be a grand prize for winning. Play at your own risk. You might learn something.

"The Hunt" Saturday 7:30P-8:00P Hosted by Clan Gangrel

Clan Gangrel hosts a tracking event to celebrate Clan Gangrel’s history as survivors, experts in outdoorsmanship, and a demonstration on what the clan brings to Domains across the world in modern nights. Rather than a demonstration of our ability, we invite residents and guests to participate in this activity and try to experience what we do.

"Boons for Debate" Booth Saturday 8P-8:30P Hosted by Clan Brujah

Clan Brujah hosts a Boons for Debate Booth. We will have a few topics of debate (topics range from conversational, entertaining, to controversial). Sitting at a table will be a Brujah ready to "die on a hill" for a debate. Citizens can pay boons to debate the topic in question. Each debate is hosted in 3-minute slots. Trivial boons for the lesser issues, minor boons for slightly more heated ones.

What game system is this? Grand Elysium uses One World By Night (OWBN) rules: a Mind's Eye Theatre variant of Vampire the Masquerade live-action roleplay (LARP).
What is OWBN? One World by Night is an international network of local game chronicles that play World of Darkness games and follow a continuous ruleset and "world". To learn more, visit their website.
Do I have to know the rules/how much will I have to learn? No, and extremely little. We'll help you at check-in, but OWBN rules are designed to be very easy to jump in and play. We will have cheat sheets available as well at sign-in.
What rulebook are you using? While it isn't necessary to purchase the rulebook, you may purchase a copy at Drive-Thru RPG.
How do I select a character? Show up at sign-in and choose a pre-made character sheets at sign-in to choose from.
How do I bring my existing OWBN character? Send us your character sheet on Haller by opening your sheet > Player Tools > Send Sheet To Another Game > "Grand Elysium / Grand Esbat 2025"!
What if I have a character, but don't have Haller? No problem! Email [email protected] (for the Camarilla time slot) or [email protected] (for the Sabbat time slot).
Do I need to RSVP In-Character or Ask for Hospitality? There is no In-Character RSVP this year.
How do I log Loaned Status? If you will be bringing loaned status behind your name into the event or want to loan status to someone else, please record it IC with Columbus Harpy Titus Bastone ([email protected]) including: yours and their character names, personal standing, home Domains, name of loaned status (as well as any stipulations to the loan), etc.
May I build a new character beforehand? Sure! Work with Storytellers beforehand by emailing [email protected] before June 1st.
Which sects are welcome, and what time do they play? Camarilla, Anarch, and Independent are welcome!
What if my character is Sabbat? Sabbat are invited to the Grand Esbat from 12pm-5pm at the same location! Website coming soon.
Can my children play? This event is 18+ and no children are allowed to play, nor allowed within the game area.
What is the costuming expectation? Grand Elysium is generally a "formal" event (gowns and ties) however there will surely be vampires who do not abide by the "status quo" and thus you will not be too out of place if you decide to arrive casual. There are 3 optional costuming themes for the weekend as well on the homepage, if you'd like to participate.
What types of themes can I expect? This event is 18+ and thus you should expect themes of personal horror, morality, allusions to violence/gore (we are playing vampires after all), and assault. Additionally, by being present and signing in, you consent to being witness to a PG-13 environment (coarse language, sexual content [limited to kissing/making out], and suggestive dialogue).
How physical is this LARP? This game is NOT PHYSICAL at all. There is no boffer fighting, no physically acting out attacks, etc. Physical feats are handled through simple tests of 'rock paper scissors' (called "chops"). Further, you and your character will NEVER be expected to participate in any social touch without your full consent, and consent should always be asked for in even the most basic of physical touch (i.e. a shoulder touch when meeting someone).
